Jeff Campbell’s Public Statements on Policy
The Second Amendment and Gun Rights:
“Free speech does have certain restrictions, so why can’t the 2nd Amendment have them too?”
“Republicans want Democrats to compromise on Health Care… will Republicans compromise on Gun Control?”
“Can we finally have a real debate on gun control?”
Abortion
“I voted no on SJR 12 because it’s not an abortion issue; It’s a women’s health issue.”
“Does it help or hurt people? I think SJR 12 hurts people. Abortions will continue, whether legal or not. Everyone deserves access to the best health care, regardless of their financial status, regardless of if they’re on Medicaid.”
Donald Trump and January 6th:
“I trust (Hillary) Clinton/Kaine more than Trump/Pence. The Clinton team has the experience on knowledge to lead our country. Trump scares me”
“A third Clinton term would be good for America.”
“On the right, is the same Lincoln statue during the riot there on January 6, 2021”
Immigration:
“The closest route from our 42nd District to Mexico is a 1495-mile drive from Pence Springs to Laredo, Texas, which is on the Mexican border. That’s a drive time of 22 hours, 27 minutes.
“Regardless of your position on President Trump’s border wall, I think most will agree that West Virginia cannot afford to send one dime when so many issues remain within our state’s borders.”
Education:
“Republicans passed a new priority to ban transgender women and girls from competing on women’s teams in middle school, high school, and college sports.”
“State schools are going through a massive budget cut, but we have money for charter schools?”
The Direction of West Virginia and the Republican Party:
“What we got this session was a lot of oxygen sucked from the atmosphere under the dome on issues like guns, sexual proclivities, gender identities, and other issues important to the folks who think 1955 is exactly where we need to be”
